The week of August 26th...
This is the last week of August and we can all give a loud shout of "we did it"! Completing the first calendar of the school year is always a major feat. We have rules, policies, and work habits in place. Thank you for all you have done to encourage and support us as we get to know your child. We truly see our work as an opportunity to work as a team with your family.
Second group parents, don't forget I will be available after school Monday, the 26th, and Thursday the 28th, to discuss F and F with you and any other questions/concerning Shurley.

Monday, August 19th
Happy Monday to all in room 111!
Today we began individual reading testing for all 1st group students and new to us students. We will be doing a math assessment also. When we meet on Friday, Sept. 13th, we will discuss the results and know more information about your student!
There is a new Bible Verse for this week, along with new Spelling words for 2nd group. 1st group does not have a Spelling list yet, but very soon they will! We are getting settled with SMILA at this point.
We hope you are adjusting along with your student. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child! Have a great week!
*don't forget this Friday the students are wearing their new True North tee shirts and jeans (or uniform skorts, shorts, or pants).

Parents, we are off to a great start! Thank you for all you do to help us grow your children educationally and with their hearts!
Just a few reminders:
Spelling test for second group is this Friday the 16th. All children will need to be able to say their Bible Verse from memory to a teacher. Please continue practicing!
Second group parents - look for the red reading book tomorrow night (Thursday, the 15th) so that you can let your student go over one more time the story "Ann's First Day."

Welcome!
Welcome to room 111 for the 2013 -14 school year! I am excited to be here and pray each of you will be also. I know God has great things planned for each of us this year and I commit to loving and teaching each child with the joy of the Lord as my strength!
I will be posting information from time to time as I have need to communicate with you. Because you get a point sheet daily along with your child's classwork daily, I won't be blogging as often. Please feel free to contact me when you have a question, concern, or need. Thank you for allowing me the privilege to partner with you while teaching your child. Have a great year!
